How it’s worked out
Per the Energy Star chart for an 8 ft (2.44 m) ceiling: heavy shade takes off 10%, strong sun adds 10%, each person beyond two adds 600 BTU and a kitchen adds 4,000. “Horsepower” for AC units is Israeli market usage, not an official unit; 9,000 BTU per hp is an example. Check the model’s BTU rating. With high ceilings, a top floor or big windows, ask an installer.
